The Indian contingent at the Paris Olympics has made history, with Manu Bhaker becoming the only Indian woman to have won two Olympic medals in a single event. The athlete reached India recently and met her followers. One of them was actor John Abraham, who shared a picture with Manu recently on his social media handle.

On Instagram, John shared a picture of himself with Olympic bronze medallist Manu Bhaker after she landed in India. He captioned the post, “Had the pleasure of meeting @bhakermanu and her lovely family. She has made India proud!!! 🇮🇳 Respect.”
In the picture, John is seen holding Manu’s bronze medal. He was wearing a casual black T-shirt, navy blue pants and a black cap. Manu is seen holding her other bronze medal, while wearing a Team Indian T-shirt, Team Indian jacket and black leggings.
John and Manu’s fans quickly took notice of the post and showered love on Manu for being the pride of our nation. One user wrote, “MANU BHAKER the pride of India,” while another wrote, “Respect for all greatest power full Indians 🇮🇳.”
Manu Bhaker’s Olympic victory
At the Paris Olympics, Manu became the first Indian woman to win an Olympic medal in shooting. After winning a bronze medal in 100-metre shooting, she won another bronze with Sarabjot Singh in the mixed team 10-metre air pistol shooting. She became the only Indian woman to have won two Olympic medals in a single event.
Speaking about the love she has received since her Olympic victory, Manu shared pictures of herself with her bronze medals and wrote, “I am extremely overwhelmed by the support and wishes that have been coming in. Winning 2 bronze medals in a single edition of Olympics is a dream come true. This achievement is not just mine but belongs to everyone who has believed in me and supported me along the way. I couldn’t have done it without the unwavering support of everyone.”
She concluded by writing, “Competing and performing at the biggest stage for my country is a moment of immense pride and joy. Thank you all for being a part of this incredible journey and for standing by me through every step. Your encouragement means the world to me! A bittersweet end to my campaign in Paris but happy to contribute to #TeamINDIA’s success. Jai Hind! 🇮🇳.”
