The filmmakers appear to have constructed huge market sets for Veera Dheera Sooran. Written and directed by SU Arun Kumar, Vikram plays the role of a small grocery shop owner in a busy neighbourhood. However, there seems to be more to his character than meets the eye.
The teaser trailers that were released earlier hint that the protagonist has a history of violence. While he may seem to have reformed and is living a simple life with his wife and daughter, he still appears ready to pull out his old barrel gun and fire at his enemies should the need arise.
The filmmakers revealed that the film will be released in two parts. However, in a unique twist, the second part will be released first, followed by the first part.
SU Arun Kumar made his directorial debut with the gripping crime drama Chithha. The movie was released in cinemas in 2023 and garnered positive reviews. It tackled the issues of women's safety and child abuse. While the film was a critical hit, it didn't make a significant impact at the box office.
In the meantime, Vikram is waiting for the release of Thangalaan. Written and directed by Pa. Ranjith, the period drama was delayed due to post-production reasons. It's expected to hit the screens soon after the end of the Lok Sabha elections.
