Varun Dhawan on embracing parenthood
During The Great Indian Kapil Show, Varun Dhawan spoke about welcoming his daughter Lara and how he gets scolded by his wife Natasha. The Baby John actor stated that Lara’s presence completely transformed him and revealed that he never thought he could feel so vulnerable.
He added, "I am learning how to burp her, how to swaddle her. Sometimes when she starts crying I feel terrified. Sometimes at night, when you are exhausted and she starts crying, I pretend to get up but Natasha gets up before me and goes to soothe her. No no…but you have to go because you feel anxious.”
Varun and Natasha welcomed their first child, a daughter named Lara, in June. The couple announced her arrival by sharing a post on social media which said, “Our baby girl is here. Thank u for all the good wishes for the mama and the baby.”
Speaking about embracing parenthood and how becoming a girl’s father changed him, the actor had earlier told The Hollywood Reporter, "As a man, I’d say, that when we become parents, for some reason, you feel a protection towards your daughter. I am sure you feel for sons also, but towards the daughter… If anyone causes even so much (little) harm to her I’d kill them."
