The trailer of Luv Ranjan’s next Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar has finally dropped and expectations from this Ranbir Kapoor and Sharaddha Kapoor starrer romantic comedy are sky high. Known for delivering entertainers like Pyaar Ka Punchnama and Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety, Luv Rajan was confronted at the trailer launch event of his upcoming film about the narratives of his movies always depicting women as the ‘villain’.
While the question is not new for Luv Rajan who has previously faced criticism for portraying the women in his films in a bad light, the filmmaker said at the press conference that Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar evens things out as both the lead characters in the film are playing each other. Shraddha who is the leading lady of the movie also tried to pass off the ‘villain’ query in jest saying, “Aapko pata hain na mere dad kaun hain?”
Luv Ranjan on being further added if he will ever show the men as the heartbreakers in his film added, “Baki filmmakers bohot acha kaam kar rahe hain na uss matter pe? Ki ladki seedhi hai aur ladka chalu hai 50 saal se log dikha hi rahe hain.”
The trailer of Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar features Ranbir and Sharaddha challenging each other to break up first. It is the first time the two actors have been paired opposite one another which also added to the appeal of this romantic- comedy. At the trailer launch, Luv Rajan also made clear that the two actors will not be promoting the film together and they were also kept away from each other at the event.
Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar marks Ranbir’s return to the genre after a long gap and also marks the acting debut of Boney Kapoor and Anubhav Singh Bassi. The film arrives in cinemas on 8 March 2023.
