One of the funniest scenes from the trailer of Thor: Love and Thunder were when Thor was captured by Zeus(Russel Crowe) and his clothes were accidentally stripped away.
Of course, the reactions of the rest of Zeus's entourage are the perfect punchline and highlight the tone of the movie.
while parts of that scene were censored in the trailer according to the movie's PG-13 rating, it won't be the same when the movie hits theaters.
Director Taika Waititi who is busy promoting Thor 4 as well as the recently released animated movie Lighyyear had a funny response when asked about the nudity in the movie.
During an interview with Comicbook.com Taika Waititi had the idea for the scene in the early stages of writing the script.
"We all knew we wanted to do it from very early on. That was in the first draft of the script actually and Chris was on board as well, You know, I think you have a body like Chris, like, you know, even he understands. It would be just, it would be a waste to not show it off."
He added "It would be a crime against humanity. So, you know, it's, you have to provide for the masses."
Considering the overwhelmingly positive response to the trailer and the success of Waititi's previous installment Thor: Ragnarok, it will come as no surprise if the movie is filled with the quirky humor the director is known for.
In Thor: Love and Thunder, Thor reunites with Jane Foster who now wields Mjolnir, and together with the rest of his friends must take on Gorr: The God Butcher.
The movie boasts an ensemble cast that includes Chris Hemsworth , Christian Bale, Tessa Thompson, Jaimie Alexander, Taika Waititi, Russell Crowe , and Natalie Portman .
Thor: Love and Thunder will hit theaters on July 8th.
