THIS is what Akashdeep Sabir feels about Ranveer Allahbadia’s India’s Got Latent controversial episode
After the controversial episode of Ranveer Allahbadia in India’s Got Latent went on air, not just the media and social media, but almost everyone is talking about the same. Speaking exclusively with Desimartini was the actor cum director cum and producer Akashdeep Sabir, who spoke what he felt about the whole episode.
Sabir, who has been an admirer of Ranveer Allahbadia’s vlogs and podcasts, was now shocked and disheartened, feeling that it was not just unnecessary but deeply shameful. He expressed his disappointment over the drastic shift in Allahbadia’s content and questioned why someone with such influence would participate in something so tasteless.
Sabir said, “I’ve been following Ranveer Allahbadia’s vlogs and podcasts, and I really began to like the way he conducted those sessions. It was nice to see some very important people who matter coming on the vlog. It gradually became a significant space for people, and when I saw what I saw today, I found it disgusting.
I watched his apology as well, which is meaningless, saying he doesn’t understand humor. Then what were you doing there? You picked up a line from an international show called Truth Drink, where the anchor asked a participant the same question that you asked here about the family. Clearly lifting another line and using it here, if you thought comedy is not your domain, and if you truly respect people and their values, then why did you accept the invitation?
With your kind of following, you could have walked out of the show when the conversation started going in a direction you didn’t subscribe to. You’re a celebrity in the social media space, and you know that things on the digital domain can’t be completely erased. Once they’re out there, people save them, and they remain for the future. So, Ranveer, this was absolutely disgraceful and distasteful, completely unexpected from you.
No kind of apology will ever fix this. It’s unfortunate because 99% of your work isn’t like this, but sometimes, it just takes one bad decision to spoil the entire basket.”
