Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna are all set to share the screen space for the first time. The duo has teamed up on Dinesh Vijan's vampire film titled Thama, which will be helmed by Aditya Sarpotdar. The new report suggests that Ayushmann and Rashmika kickstarted the shoot on December 12.

According to a recent report by Mid Day, the story of Thama starring Ayushmann and Rashmika will unfold across two distinct settings — present-day Delhi and the Vijayanagara Empire from the past. Though the shoot for the film was supposed to begin in October this year, it started on December 12 due to unforeseen circumstances.

The report added that along with Ayushmann and Rashmika, actor Paresh Rawal started shooting on December 12, 2024, with a night schedule. It also revealed that after filming the introductory scenes at the location, the star cast is supposed to shoot at the location till December 23, 2024, after which they will take a break for the New Year. It is also reported that a studio depicting the Delhi home of Paresh Rawal’s character is set up at Chitra Studio by production designers Subrata Chakraborty and Amit Ray.
Speaking about the future schedule of the shoot, the star cast is reported to start shooting in Delhi in January 2025 and after filming for a month in the city, they will move to Ooty in February 2025 where Nawazuddin Siddiqui will join the cast.
Shedding more light on Nawazuddin’s character, the report revealed that special sequences will be shot in the jungles of Ooty as the actor is playing the role of an antagonist in the film who lives in the jungle. The actor will have a unique look designed by costume designer Sheetal Sharma.
Starring Rashmika, Ayushmann, Paresh Rawal, and Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Thama will be directed by Munjya director Aditya Satpodar. The film is expected to hit the theatres on Diwali 2025.
