After basking in the success of Gadar 2, Bollywood actor Sunny Deol has begun working on his other acting projects. The actor, who is currently working on his upcoming war drama film Border 2 with Varun Dhawan and Diljit Dosanjh, will soon start shooting for Nitesh Tiwari’s magnum opus film Ramayana: Part in the summer of 2025. The film stars Ranbir Kapoor and Sai Pallavi in the lead roles.
Sunny Deol joins Ramayana: Part One
According to a report by Pinkvilla, actor Sunny Deol who will be playing the role of Hanuman in Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana: Part One will start shooting for the film in mid-2025. The report added that Sunny will take up Ramayana after finishing his work on Border 2.
Sunny has also given his dates for the sequel film of Ramayana: Part One, according to the report. “Much like Ranbir, Sunny Deol has also allotted bulk dates to Nitesh Tiwari and Namit Malhotra to shoot for his part in the Ramayana Franchise,” the report said
Director Nitesh Tiwari has put together an incredible ensemble cast for Ramayana: Part One. Actor Sunny Deol will be joining actor Ranbir Kapoor, Yash and actress Sai Pallavi in the film.
Yash and Ranbir Kapoor’s role in Ramayana: Part One
Speaking about Yash’s character in the film, the report revealed that the actor will be essaying the role of Raavan in the film and has undergone several look tests for his character and is all set to start shooting in December 2024. “He moves on to the epic after completing a major chunk of his next, the Geethu Mohandas-directed Toxic. He is excited to explore one of the most complex characters from Ramayana,” the report added.
Meanwhile, Ranbir Kapoor, who plays the role of Ram in the film, has already completed 90 percent of his work and will soon begin working on Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love & War. The report said, “He had allotted bulk dates to Nitesh Tiwari and Namit Malhotra to play the part of Lord Ram, and the duo have been extremely professional to wrap up the shoot ahead of schedule.”
The team of Ramayana: Part One has been working in full swing since they began shooting in March 2024. The film is expected to conclude shooting by August 2025 and hit the theatres in 2026.
