Karan Johar’s directorial film Student of the Year, starring Alia Bhatt, Sidharth Malhotra and Varun Dhawan, has completed 12 years of its making. Celebrating the milestone, the filmmaker took to his social media and shared never-seen-before BTS pictures from the shooting of the film, calling it the best time of his life.

Taking to Instagram, Karan shared BTS pictures from the shooting of Student of the Year (SOTY) and called it the best time of his life. Karan captioned the post, “Let’s start with...there’s something about ‘today’, something very special!!! 12 years and I look back at the film I embarked on, solely to have the best time of my life. And the best time, it was!”
The first picture features Karan, actress Kajol, makeup artist Mickey Contractor and fashion designer Manish Malhotra. The artists are laughing and posing for the camera. The following video features Karan saying, “Everything that I love about cinema, the youth, the zest, the zing, the music, the energy, the comic timing, everything that I have always loved about Hindi cinema is a part of Student of the Year.” The clip is followed by BTS moments of shooting multiple scenes for the film.
The third picture features Karan speaking to Alia and Sidharth, while they are sitting on a bench. The next monochrome picture is a back shot of Karan talking to Sidharth. In another picture, the filmmaker is talking to Varun Dhawan, who played the role of Rohan in the film. In one picture, Karan is also seen speaking to the late veteran actor Rishi Kapoor. The last picture is the poster, where the trio is sitting on the top of a roof.
Actor Ayushmann Khurrana reacted to the post with a red heart emoji, while fashion designer Manish Malhotra too commented with multiple red heart emojis.
