Star box office collection day 2: Kavin-starrer maintains steady growth; earns THIS much

Kavin-starrer Star, which was released on May 10, has been making huge waves at the box office. The film witnessed an excellent opening and continued to soar high in the first weekend as well. Directed by Elan, the film stars Kavin, Aaditi Pohankar and Preity Mukhundhan, and revolves around a man’s struggle to become an actor. Here’s how much Kavin's drama collected at the box office on Day 2.

On the second day, Star doubled the collection it earned on its opening day, according to industry tracker Sacnilk. The film has earned approximately Rs 4 crore on its day 2, taking its total collection to Rs 6.8 crore. The film also enjoyed a massive Tamil occupancy of 55.94%. Released alongside Arjun Das' Rasavathi, Star has been able to effectively attract a larger audience, thanks to its captivating trailer, which enticed many viewers to watch Kavin’s fascinating performance on big screens. Considering the moderate reception for Rasavathi, Kavin and Elan’s Star is sure to take over the weekend box office earrings.

All about Kavin’s Star

Star is directed by Elan who is known for his hit film Pyaar Prema Kaadhal with Harish Kalyan. Headlined by Kavin, Star is an emotional drama that follows the life of an aspiring actor and chronicles his struggles and rise to stardom. Notably, Star was initially headlined by Harish Kalyan, who walked out of the film due to creative differences. Kavin was later brought on board to play the lead role.

Elan has directed and penned the screenplay for the film. Actors such as Lal, Geetha Kailasam, Aaditi Pohankar, and Preity Mukhundhan play key roles alongside the leading man.  The film has been receiving good responses and has lived up to the expectations of fans who are flooding theatres across Tamil Nadu to watch the cinematic masterpiece. With positive word-of-mouth, the movie is expected to perform well in the coming days.
