Director SS Rajamouli and Mahesh Babu’s upcoming collaboration SSMB29 is one of the most anticipated Telugu period dramas of the year. Although the makers of the film are yet to reveal many key details about the film, the latest buzz surrounding the film is about an important cast member.
Latest reports claim that the makers are roping in Mollywood star Prithviraj Sukumaran for a crucial role in SSMB29, which is said to be an international adventure. Although there are speculations about Rajamouli being in talks with Prithviraj for a potential collaboration, an official confirmation from the team is awaited.

Mahesh Babu to have multiples looks in SSMB29
According to reports, leading man Mahesh Babu will sport multiple looks in the upcoming period adventure. In this maiden collaboration of the actor-director duo, Mahesh Babu will have as many as eight looks in the film. SSMB29 is currently in the pre-production phase and is said to draw inspiration from Hindu mythology, with Mahesh Babu’s character being inspired by the Hindu god Hanuman. Actor Nagarjuna is also said to be playing a key role in the film. Touted to be an epic action adventure on the lines of Indiana Jones, SSMB29 has a script by screenwriter Vijayendra Prasad.

What writer Vijayendra Prasad revealed about SSMB29
According to scriptwriter Vijayendra Prasad, who is Rajamouli's father, SSMB29 will have elements from the Ramayana. Mahesh Babu's character in the film has traits similar to Ramayana’s Lord Hanuman; possessing the strength to survive in difficult conditions in forests. Prasad revealed that the film will be a globetrotting action adventure with loads of emotions, like Steven Spielberg's Raiders of the Lost Ark. The writer also revealed that it will have an open-ended climax to explore the possibility of a sequel.
According to reports, the shoot for SSMB29 is set to commence at the end of 2024, with a grand release in 2025. The film will be released in multiple languages and is also said to feature an ensemble cast.
