Soori on Kottukkaali
As the release date of the film approaches, the actor took to social media to share a heartfelt note about his movie. He revealed that his character, named Pandi, is someone who could be found in every family. “Kottukkaali will be completely different from my previous films like Viduthalai and Garudan. This is a mainstream, content-oriented film, that is very close to reality. My character, Pandi, is someone who could be found in every family,” he said.
“Pandi strongly believes in the relationships and values that society has taught him. During the filming process, I was very careful about accurately portraying the mental anguish between the societal creation of Pandi, and Pandi as an individual. I believe I’ve done justice. Kottukkaali is definitely a must-watch film.”

About Kottukkaali
Directed by P. S. Vinothraj, the upcoming rural drama centers around the patriarchy prevalent in society and the unfair treatment of women. The story focuses on two families who arrange the wedding of Meena and Pandi, played by the lead actors. However, things go awry when Meena reveals she is in love with someone from a lower caste. Despite this, the family decides to proceed with her marriage. Soon after, Meena's seemingly cold demeanor leads her family to believe she is possessed. Both families then seek help from an exorcist to free her from any evil spirits, leading to chaos.
