Sonali Bendre reveals she lost movies due to underworld pressure in Bollywood, recalls husband Goldie Behl helping her

Sonali Bendre is currently enjoying her glorious comeback in the entertainment industry. The actress was, however, a big name during the 90s but had her own share of troubles in the industry even during that phase. Sonali recently made a shocking revelation wherein she said how she lost on to some roles due to the ‘underworld’ pressure in Bollywood .

In a recent interview with The Ranveer Show podcast, Sonali Bendre said how she lost some roles due to pressure from the underworld and some shoddy producers. The Sarfarosh actress said, “Many clean sources were financing films. But, there was not a proper, formal industry status. So, there was a lot of unregulated finance coming in as well, and banks will not give it to you. So, that limit was there.”

However, fortunately for Sonali Bendre, her husband Goldie Behl who is himself a renowned producer in the film industry helped her during this phase. The Hum Saath Saath Hain actress furthermore added, “There were times when I was supposed to do a role and it went to someone else because someone called them up. But then the director or the co-actor will call you and say ‘I have that pressure and I can’t do anything about it’ And, I understand.”

Meanwhile, at the present stage, Sonali Bendre is hustling, and how! After defeating metastatic cancer, the actress is back to work. She was seen as a judge on the popular dance reality show, DID Lil Champs Season 5. Furthermore, she also made her OTT debut with the web series, The Broken News opposite Shriya Pilgaonkar and Jaideep Ahlawat.

In an earlier interview with Pinkvilla, Sonali Bendre had spoken about her husband Goldie Behl reacting to her getting back to work. The actress had said, “He has been asking me to do this much earlier. He is like, ‘you are fine, your brain is so sharp, just get back’. He has been telling me, ‘you should get back to work’ because knowing me he said, ‘at that point in time, so many years back in the 90s, you used to work the way they work today. So you would really enjoy the process of working in today’s day and age’. So yes, he has been telling me to come back and work for the longest time now.”
