On the occasion of legendary actor and mother Nargis Dutt’s birth anniversary, Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt shared an emotional note alongside a throwback photo on his social media handle.
Taking to Instagram, Sanjay Dutt posted a black and white photo of himself with her late mother from older times. Alongside he penned a heartfelt note that reads, “Your smile kept me strong, your words kept me grounded, and your spirit lifted me at my lowest. You were the best I could ever ask for. Happy Birthday, Ma.”
Soon after his post surfaced online, Sanjay’s wife Maanyata Dutt reacted to the post by dropping heart emojis. Sanjay’s sister Priya Dutt also shared a video for her mother containing various unseen photos of the late actor and the Dutt family.. “Happy Birthday to the most beautiful human being. In her short life of 52 years she lived fully loved completely and laughed whole heartedly she touched so many lives with her goodness and pure heart. Love you forever and ever Mom and miss you dearly,” she wrote in the caption. Take a look:
For the unversed, Nargis was regarded as one of the greatest actresses in the history of Indian cinema. She had appeared in numerous commercially successful films in her career span of three decades. She was best known for her role as Radha in the Academy Award-nominated 1957 film Mother India . She received National Award for Best Actress for the 1967 film Raat Aur Din.
Nargis fell in love with fellow actor Sunil Dutt on the set of Mother India. The couple tied the knot in 1958 and together they had three children, including the actor Sanjay Dutt, Priya Dutt and Namrata Dutt. In the early 80s, Nargis was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer due to which she passed away on May 3, 1981.
Meanwhile, on the work front, Sanjay was last seen in blockbuster hit KGF Chapter 2 alongside Yash . He will next be seen alongside Akshay Kumar in Samrat Prithviraj . It is set to hit theatres on June 3.
