Saif Ali Khan's interesting revelations: Parents never saw acting as a viable career option for him and more

Bollywood star Saif Ali Khan has proven his acting prowess with projects such as Omkara, Sacred Games, Cocktail, and Parineeta, among others. The actor’s latest movie is Devara: Part 1 alongside Telugu star Jr. NTR and actress Janhvi Kapoor. The actor recently spoke to India Today and opened up about his parents, kids and future plans for his home, the Pataudi Palace.

Speaking about his parents, the late Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi and Sharmila Tagore, Saif Ali Khan said that his parents made it clear that he would not inherit any sort of money and that he would have to work for it. Talking about visiting movie sets with his mother Sharmila, Saif said that it was never a thing back then and he organically developed an interest in acting when he was offered his first film and came to Mumbai. He said that his parents never saw acting as a viable career option for him.

When the interviewer asked Saif if his kids feel the pressure of taking forward their family’s legacy, Saif replied that the legacy of serving the country or the people is different from being a movie star, so there is no pressure of being an actor. He added that his oldest daughter Sara is already an actor, and son Ibrahim wants to be one. The actor added that acting is a great job and there is no pressure, but for him, they could be anything if they are happy.

Saif was also asked if his kids Sara and Ibrahim come to him for advice on roles and relationships. The actor responded by saying that when he is not shooting, he is spending most of his time with his children and it is fortunate that they ask him for advice on such matters.

Speaking about his famous house, the Pataudi Palace, Saif said that the house has a lot of history, and he takes a lot of pride in it. He revealed that after his father passed away, he inherited the house, and his family members are buried there and it’s their home. He added that there is a room in the house called Darbar Hall which he wants to rename as Long Room and showcase all the glory of his father’s cricket career.
