Israeli filmmaker Nadav Lapid ’s statement on The Kashmir Files at the 53rd International Film Festival of India (IFFI) has now become the talking point of many netizens. While some are left strongly criticizing the director-writer for his statements, others who also shared similar thoughts on the Vivek Agnihotri -directorial film supported him. Now, the lead actor in the film, Anupam Kher has strongly condemned the statements of Lapid in a brief video while Agnihotri left a cryptic post.
Talking about the same, Anupam Kher shared a video wherein he indirectly took a jibe at Nadav Lapid who had said these statements during the closing ceremony of the IFFI. The actor was seen telling in Hindi how some people do not have the strength to hear the truth and just wish to hear it in a sugar-coated manner in what they feel is right. He further criticized Nadav for using such humiliating words for the film that showcased the brutal genocide of the Kashmiri Pandits in 1990. Kher added that he along with many families of the Kashmiri Pandits has been a living example of the atrocities that were faced by the people of Kashmir during that phase. He ended the video by saying that India and Israeli have a good bond and have faced terrorism but there will always be some people who will be traitors to their own country hinting towards the Lapid. ‘कश्मीर फ़ाइल्स’ का सच कुछ लोगो के गले में एक काँटे की तरह अटक गया है।वो ना उसे निगल पा रहे है ना उगल! इस सच को झूठा साबित करने के लिए उनकी आत्मा,जो मर चुकी है, बुरी तरह से छटपटा रही है।पर हमारी ये फ़िल्म अब एक आंदोलन है फ़िल्म नहीं।तुच्छ #Toolkit गैंग वाले लाख कोशिश करते रहें।🙏 pic.twitter.com/ysKwCraejt

Apart from this, the director of The Kashmir Files, Vivek Agnihotri also shared a cryptic tweet wherein he indirectly took a dig at Nadav Lapid without taking his name. The filmmaker stated, “GM. Truth is the most dangerous thing. It can make people lie. #CreativeConsciousness.” Take a look at the same.

Apart from this, producer Ashoke Pandit and actor Ranvir Shorey also criticized Nadav Lapid’s statements on The Kashmir Files. The Israeli director had stated, “All of us were disturbed and shocked by the 15th film, The Kashmir Files. That felt like a propaganda, vulgar movie, inappropriate for an artistic competitive section of such a prestigious film festival. I feel totally comfortable openly sharing these feelings here with you at this stage. In the spirit of this festival, we can surely also accept a critical discussion, which is essential for art and life.”
