It has been three decades since Raveena Tandon has been a part of the Hindi film industry. In these years, the industry and those around it have undergone several changes. Raveena recently made her OTT debut with Aaranyak and during her recent interviews has opened up about how earlier celebs were left at the mercies of the editors. She has spoken up at large about the toxic culture prevalent before. Now, during an interaction with Film Companion, the actress recalled being linked to her own brother once.

During the interview, Raveena revealed that a magazine once saw her brother dropping her on the sets of her film and assumed that he would definitely be her boyfriend. “They linked me with my own brother and Stardust wrote about that as well. ‘There is a handsome, fair boy who comes to drop Raveena Tandon, we have discovered Raveena Tandon’s boyfriend’. We have lived through that. Who would clarify and how much would you? You were at the mercy of those journalists and editors. Even if you would say ‘hello?’, they would say, ‘yeah, okay, take it with a pinch of salt’,” she quipped.

She also added that because of such rumours always doing the rounds, she had many sleepless nights, where she would simply cry herself to sleep. She added, "I would dread every month, another yellow, gossipy tabloid completely ripping me, my credibility, my reputation, my parents into shreds and I would wonder, ‘What is it all about?’.”
In an earlier interview with Filmfare, Raveena had said, "In those days, you were completely at the mercy of the editors, who had printed a crap story and once the headlines hit, they hit and your mental health be damned.” She lauded the changes that the industry has undergone and also thanked that social media has bridged the gap between celebs and audiences so much.
