In the age of artificial intelligence, anything is possible. May it be solving math and science problems or performing data related tasks. There are several pros! However, earlier this week we saw one major con when a video took the internet by storm. This clip featured Indian actress Rashmika Mandanna’s face, morphed over British-Indian content creator Zara Patel’s body. In this video, the woman walks into the lift wearing a skimpy black bodysuit. After appeals from several celebs as well as netizens, the government has now called for action against the deepfake video.
I feel really hurt to share this and have to talk about the deepfake video of me being spread online.

Something like this is honestly, extremely scary not only for me, but also for each one of us who today is vulnerable to so much harm because of how technology is being misused.…
Rashmika expressed her gratitude for the same by sharing the news on her official Instagram story. Meanwhile her rumoured boyfriend and Geetha Govindam co-star Vijay Deverakonda finally reacted to the viral video. Sharing a news article which states that the government has directed all social media platforms to take down deepfake videos within the next 36 hours, he wrote: “Extremely important steps for the future. This shouldn't happen to anyone. Also an efficient accessible cyber wing for quick crackdowns and punishment will make people more secure.”
Soon after the video had gone viral, the Pushpa actress had shared an official statement expressing that she was scared to see how technology is being misused today. Rashmika further shared that she is glad to have support from her friends, family and well-wishers. But if something like this would have happened when she was in school or college, she would not have known how to tackle it. Mrunal Thakur, Amitabh Bachchan and Chaitanya Akkineni along with several others had come out in support of Rashmika.
On the work front, Rashmika will soon return to the silver screen as Srivalli in Allu Arjun starrer Pushpa 2: The Rule. Currently she is gearing up for the release of her third Hindi film, titled Animal. Helmed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, the action thriller features Ranbir Kapoor and Anil Kapoor in the lead with Bobby Deol as the antagonist.
