Ranbir Kapoor finally broke his silence over facing social media wrath after Alia Bhatt’s wipe-it-off lipstick statement. The actor said he is okay with being the face of toxic masculinity as he thinks that people’s fight is much bigger than him feeling affected. He also added that negativity is crucial to create a balance.
The actor recently interacted with fans in a Zoom session, wherein he opened up on many things. Addressing the trolling, the actor said he needs not to deal with it since he is not on social media. “Sometimes a lot of things are written about you as an actor, a lot of opinions are made which are not necessarily true and if you take it for a pinch of salt because I this image of mine which has been created by the movies or the characters I play or by media is something that I don’t own. It’s owned by the public, it’s owned by people who like my work or dislike my work and they are allowed to say anything about me as long as they give my work a chance you know as long as I can prove to them as an actor and that has always been my focus is just to act,” he said.
i am on the side of the people who are fighting for the toxic masculinity, if they use me as the face of it, it's fine because their fight is bigger than just me feeling bad about them having an opinion about what i said

Further, he added, “Recently, I was reading some article about being toxic and something relating to some statement I made and I understand this. And I am on the side of the people who are fighting for toxic masculinity, if they use me as the face of it, it’s fine because their fight is bigger than just me feeling bad about them having an opinion about what I said.” For the unversed, Ranbir’s wife Alia Bhatt had earlier mentioned about how he asks her to wipe lipstick off her lips, citing that he doesn’t like her wearing lipstick. Soon after, several netizens labelled him as a big red flag for dictating terms to his wife.
Meanwhile, Ranbir is all geared up for his upcoming film, Animal. Directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, the film also has Rashmia Mandanna, Anil Kapoor and Bobby Deol in pivotal roles. The film is set to arrive in theatres on December 1, 2023.
