Ranbir Kapoor seemed to be in a fun mood today as he arrived at the trailer launch of his upcoming romantic comedy Tu Jhooti Main Makkaar. The actor while posing for the paparazzi at the event engaged in some fun banter as the photographers clicking him declared the movie a ‘hit’.
The actor who is returning to the genre after a long gap, took a playful dig a the paparazzo who called ‘ Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar ’ a hit asking him, ‘Haan, kab dekha tune? Shamshera ke time pe bhi yahi bola tha tune.”
Ranbir has been paired opposite Shraddha Kapoor for the very first time and the trailer of the film has been very well received by the audience after it was released on Monday morning. The film directed by Luv Ranjan sees the two actors play lovers challenging each other to see who breaks up first.
Ranbir also ended up calling a journalist ‘makkaar’ on being asked at what point in his previous relationships did he find out that his partner was ‘jhoothi’. The actor who has previously stated that the movie might be his last project in the romantic comedy genre revisited the statement and said that if the film doesn’t work, he’ll blame it on the director while if it does, he could consider doing more such films in the future.

At the trailer launch event, Shraddha also seemed to be in the mood to have some fun and thanked Luv Rajan for looking beyond Kartik Aaryan and Nushrratt Baruccha and casting and her Ranbir instead. The filmmaker who has previously directed films like Pyaar Ka Punchnama and Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety has always had Nushrratt and Kartik as constants in his movies.
Ranbir and Shraddha will be promoting Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar separately as a part of a promotional strategy and will only be seen together in the film when it releases on Holi, that is, March 8, 2023.
