Ranbir Kapoor personally came to my house requesting me to do a role in Sanju, reveals Kangana Ranaut
Kangana Ranaut is definitely a one-woman army in herself. By her own admission, she does not need any famous surnames of Bollywood to work with her to be successful. In a recent interview with Sidharth Kannan, the lady of the moment revealed that she was offered the roles in films including Sanju, Bajrangi Bhaijaan and Sultan!
Speaking about the same, Kangana Ranaut said, “When Salman Khan offered me the role to do Bajrangi Bhaijaan, I was like, “Ye kya role tumne mujhe diya hai!”, then he offered me Sultan. After that he said, ‘Ab isse zyaada kya role chaahiye!...” (bursts out into laughter). In the same breath, she added, "Ranbir personally came to my house to request me to do a role in Sanju and also Akshay Kumar, when he was doing Singh Is Bliing”.

She also added that, Akshay Kumar said (when he was doing the aforementioned film), “Tu hai naa… mere saath hi kaam nahi karna chaahiti hai”! Tere ko naa mujhse koi problem hai.” And when she clarified that she did not have any problem with her, he asked her, ‘Phir, tune itni kyun pictures mere saath reject kiya?”
When asked about how she managed to make her weakness her strength, he replied, “Me hailing from a small village was used against me. But the very fact that I hail from a small village helped me a lot in my political career as I very well know the problems faced by the village people in their day to day lives”.
She added that, around the same time, she was not able to talk fluent English, which she made her strength in her film Queen. She added that the very fact that she hails from a grass root level village, was what really helped me a lot in my life and that she was not somebody who would shy away from being vulnerable because she was ok being vulnerable.
And when she was asked about the people’s reaction and attitude towards her after she has spoken anything, she was candid enough to accept that the people are very kind towards her as they know for a fact that, whatever she spoke was not for her personal gain.
On a professional level, Kangana Ranaut will now be seen in the much talked about Emergency. While the film has been directed and produced by Kangana Ranaut (with Renu Pitti), it stars Anupam Kher, Shreyas Talpade, Mahima Chaudhry, Milind Soman and (the late) Satish Kaushik.
The Kangana Ranaut starrer Emergency is now all set to release on September 6.
