Ranbir Kapoor on Alia Bhatt working through pregnancy: ‘I haven't seen that strength in men or women’

When Alia Bhatt announced that she and husband Ranbir Kapoor were expecting their first child, netizens had mixed reactions. While most fans were ecstatic on hearing the good news, there were a few who thought they were just promoting Brahmastra which was their first film together. Soon there were reports which suggested that Alia’s pregnancy has affected her busy schedule and rumors stated that Ranbir was going to fly to London to pick her up post her Hollywood debut film’s wrap.

Alia had shut down rumors and has gracefully been working through her pregnancy. Talking about the same in a chat with NDTV, Ranbir shared, “One thing is clear and I'm not saying this because she's my wife. Alia in the history of Indian cinema is probably one of the most important actors there's ever been. The work she's done on screen or the kind of way she carries herself, the value system that she has and what she stands by, I haven't seen that strength in men or women and I think we should just respect that.”

He went on to add that the way she carried herself throughout the promotions of Brahmastra, while being pregnant, is inspiring. Ranbir shared, “Any kind of criticism is just jealousy and mischief makers and stupidity and we should not take that seriously.” Spoken like a doting husband.

After announcing her pregnancy, not only did Alia promote Brahmastra but also completed Karan Johar’s directorial Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani with Ranveer Singh and wrapped up her first Hollywood film Heart of Stone. We wish her all the best for the coming months!
