Iconic film producer Ramoji Rao passed away in the early hours of Saturday in Hyderabad. He was 87. Ramoji Rao breathed his last while still under medical care at a private hospital.
Ramoji Rao was the founder of the Ramoji Group, which built the integrated production facility Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad. It holds the Guinness World Record for being the world's largest film studio complex and also includes theme parks, an amusement park, a water park, and an adventure park. Ramoji Film City remains the go-to studio for filmmakers across India.
The entire Telugu film industry is mourning the passing of Ramoji Rao. "Deeply saddened by the passing of #RamojiRao Garu, a pioneer and an inspiring visionary whom I deeply respect. I feel his aura every time I shoot at #RFC. His unparalleled contributions to the media, cinema, and many other industries will never be forgotten. Heartfelt condolences to his family and loved ones. May his great soul rest in peace," said Telugu superstar Allu Arjun.

The cast and crew of Telugu superstar Ram Charan's upcoming movie Game Changer also mourned the death of the legendary film producer. The producers released a video of Ram Charan and director Shankar, along with other members of the team, standing in silence in memory of Ramoji Rao.
Ramoji Rao's mortal remains have been shifted to his residence at the Film City.
