Rakul Preet and Jackky Bhagnani are soon going to tie the knot in an intimate ceremony in Goa on February 22. As per latest report, the couple had to make a last minute change in their wedding destination following the call from Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Earlier, the couple had planned their wedding overseas but changed the plan to uphold their responsibility towards the nation and its growing economy.
According to the source close to the soon-to-be-married couple, Rakul and Jackky had initially planned their wedding in the Middle East. “After nearly six months of meticulous planning, everything was pretty much in order. However, following the call from the Indian PM in December, urging rich and influential families to choose India as the venue for their big life events, Rakul and Jackky reconsidered their original plans and relocated the wedding to India,” the source said. It further added that the decision was taken in mid-December but the couple accepted the alterations and decided to celebrate their union in India itself.
Rakul and Jackky had made their relationship public in October, 2021. Ever since then they have been expressing love for each other on social media and making public appearances together. shared several posts for each other, and made many public appearances together. Earlier, Rakul said that she doesn’t want to hide her relationship. “Both of us are not from the school of thought that believes in hiding a relationship. I think as adults it’s the most natural progression of any human being and it’s a fact of life that I wouldn’t want to hide. Do I want to make news with it every time? No. It’s a fact of life, that I can also live freely and that’s it,” she had told Indian Express.
Meanwhile, workwise, Rakul Preet will be seen in Indian 2 alongside Kamal Haasan, Bobby Simhaa and Priya Bhavani Shankar. She also has romantic comedy Meri Husband Ki Biwi co-starring Arjun Kapoor and Bhumi Pednekar. On the other hand, Jackky is geared up for the release of his upcoming production venture Bade Miyan Chote Miyan featuring Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff.
