Ace comedian-actor Raju Srivastava ’s unfortunate demise shook not only the entertainment but the entire nation. Right from Prime Minister Narendra Modi to other dignitaries in politics and Bollywood celebs including Akshay Kumar, Ajay Devgn, and many others have mourned the loss. On Thursday, the comedian was laid to rest in peace at a funeral that took place at Delhi’s Nigambodh Ghat. His family and industry friends including Ehsaan Qureshi, and Sunil Pal paid their tributes.
But Alas! Raju’s brother Kaju could make it to be there for him in his last journey of life. Reportedly, he is still in Kanpur and is sick, also, his wife is pregnant which made it impossible for him to attend his brother’s funeral. There were reports suggesting that Kaju was also admitted to the same hospital AIIMS where Raju was undergoing his treatment. Compelled by the circumstances Kaju has not been able to come to Delhi to bid farewell to his brother. However, people are gathering outside his house and giving him condolences.

For those unaware, Raju suffered a major heart attack while running on the treadmill at a gym last month. Following this, he was rushed to the hospital and underwent surgery. Later, he was kept on a ventilator for 41 days but did not get back his consciousness. During this period of time, PM Modi, Rajnath Sing and UP CM Yogi Adityanath, comedians Sunil Pal, Shekhar Suman among others called up Raju’s family to check on his health. But unfortunately, the comedian died at the age of 58 and left a huge void in the life of his family and the entertainment industry.
Raju became a household name with the comedy show–The Great Indian Laughter Challenge in 2005. Prior to that, he also worked as an actor in small roles for movies like Maine Pyar Kiya, Baazigar, and Main Prem Ki Deewani Hoon among others. In films, he was last seen in Kapil Sharma’s Firangi.
