Kalki 2898 AD opened in cinemas earlier this year to a massive global response. The movie has pushed the limits on special effects in Indian cinema and seems to carry the ambition to cater to a global audience, tracing cultures and traditions.
Kalki 2898 AD follows the struggles of a pregnant woman, played by Deepika Padukone, who escapes the clutches of a tyrant to protect her unborn child. She is pursued by a legendary bounty hunter, Bhairava, played by Prabhas. Amitabh Bachchan's mythological warrior, Ashwatthama, comes out of hiding and vows to protect the pregnant woman and her child, who is destined to destroy evil and protect the good.
Kamal Haasan plays the main antagonist, Supreme Yaskin, in Kalki 2898 AD. The film ends with him finding the cure for his ailing body, and he vows to create an earthquake in his quest to stop Deepika's character from delivering the baby.
Kamal only appeared in two scenes in the movie, but it was enough to capture the imagination of the audience. He will have a bigger role in Part 2.
