Pushpa 2 -The Rule gets a new release date: Here’s when the Allu Arjun-starrer will hit the big screens!

After several speculations surrounding the postponement of its release date, the makers of Allu Arjun and Sukumar’s upcoming sequel Pushpa 2: The Rule have locked in its new release date. Leading man Allu Arjun took to his social media handles to share the new release date of the film.

Pushpa 2 to have a December release

The Pushpa star announced on his official handles that the upcoming sequel, directed by Sukumar, will be released on December 6, 2024. Earlier, the film was scheduled to hit the big screens on August 15, 2024; however, the makers were forced to postpone the release due to the post-production work that is yet to be completed. Explaining the reason for the postponement, the makers issued a statement:

“Pushpa 2: The Rule is one of the most anticipated Indian films. Following the immense success of Pushpa: The Rise, our responsibility to deliver excellence has increased significantly. We have been tirelessly working to complete the movie and release it on time. However, due to the remaining shoot and subsequent post-production work, we will not be releasing the film on August 15, 2024.

The statement continued, “This decision is made in the best interest of the film, the audience, and all stakeholders. Our goal is to provide a memorable experience on the big screen without compromising quality. The overwhelming response to our teaser and songs across all languages has been heartening, and we promise to deliver a film that you will truly love. We extend our heartfelt thanks to the audiences and our partners worldwide for their unwavering support. The media and film industries have also been incredibly supportive. Pushpa 2: The Rule will now be released worldwide on December 6, 2024. We are committed to giving you the best, and you will see only the best in cinemas.”

The makers also shared an intriguing poster of Allu Arjun, aka Pushpa Raj, where the actor is seen wearing a black t-shirt with a grey suit over it, paired with a matching bandana on his head. He is seen holding a sword, which is resting on his shoulder.

Notably, several Telugu films, such as Nithiin’s Robinhood, produced by the makers of Pushpa 2: The Rule, and Naga Chaitanya’s sea action drama Thandel, produced by GA2 Pictures, are all aiming for a Christmas release. Now, with Pushpa 2 locking its release date for December, the makers of the other films might be considering postponing their releases.
