Being a part of director Shankar and Kamal Haasan’s Indian franchise is a huge opportunity for any star in Indian cinema. And that's exactly how actress Priya Bhavani Shankar felt when she signed on for Indian 2, which was released recently. Unfortunately, the actress was hit with several trolls and bullying posts following the film's failure.
Priya Bhavani Shankar on Indian 2's failure
In a recent interview, the actress opened up about the bullying she faced after the film's release. She surprisingly revealed that although she now knows the outcome of the film, she wouldn’t mind doing it all over again if given the chance. “Indian 2 was, I think, the biggest commercial film I had signed in my career. I did fetch a few good projects after signing up for the film.”
She further explained that although the film failed, all the technicians and cast members worked hard for its success. “Nobody wants to work on a film if they know it’s not going to work. It is a huge disappointment when a film fails.”
The actress added, “But now, if they offer me Indian 2 again, I will still take it, even if I know that this is how the film will be received and this is how the audience is going to bash you.”

She then revealed that she faced a lot of bullying from fans and audiences following the release of the film. However, she asserted that no female actress in Indian cinema would say no to a Shankar-Kamal Haasan film. She added, “Indian 2 was a big opportunity for me, so do I regret doing it? If you ask, I would say no, I would do it all over again for the reasons I took it before.”

On the work front, the Tamil actress is gearing up for the release of the much-anticipated horror sequel Demonte Colony 2, which is scheduled for release on August 15, 2025. The film will be clashing with Thangalaan and Raghu Thatha at the Tamil box office.
