'Prabhas is a clown in front of Hrithik Roshan' : Netizens react to old video of SS Rajamouli comparing the two stars

An old video of ace director SS Rajamouli comparing Hrithik Roshan and Prabhas has been going viral on social media. A Reddit user has resurfaced the video that has Rajamouli say that Hrithik is nothing in front of Prabhas during the trailer launch of the latter’s film Billa . Now, netizens have been left divided by the Baahubali director’s comments in the throwback video.

Talking about the same, Rajamouli’s translated comment from the video says, “When Dhoom 2 released two years ago, I wondered why only Bollywood can make such quality films. Don’t we have heroes like Hrithik Roshan? I just saw the songs, poster and trailer of Billa, and I can only say one thing. Hrithik Roshan is nothing in front of Prabhas. I’d like to thank Meher Ramesh (director) for taking Telugu cinema to Hollywood level.” Take a look at the video.

However, netizens soon started reacting to the throwback video as soon as it went viral. While some trolled SS Rajamouli and Prabhas, others pointed out that the RRR director didn’t do the comparison in a bad taste. One of the netizens stated, “Prabhas is a clown in front of Hrithik Roshan” while another user said, “Prabhas acts like Hrithik Roshan from Aap Mujhe acche lagne lage.” A netizen added, “Real colours of these so called humble south personalities! Imagine the outrage if reverse happened.” Another netizen added, “Hrithik is a much better actor than Prabhas and when it comes to looks its a laughable lopsided competition. One looks like a Greek God and one looks like your Uber Driver.”

However, some fans came in defense of SS Rajamouli in the comment section. A fan said, “first of all this was way before when all south industries were objectively inferior to bollywood.” Another netizen said, “In Rajamouli's defense, those times were different. 15 years ago, Bollywood was THE movie industry in India and Hrithik was India's hottest commodity after Dhoom 2. He wanted to hype up the fans by comparing Prabhas with the biggest star at the time, it's like saying "Aishwarya Rai is nothing in front of you, you look better"/ comparing an Indian star with Tom Cruise who is the biggest star rn. I agree it's still lame, but 2 decades ago, singing praises of heroes and hyping up the fans who showed up for the Audio Lauch was a thing in Telugu Cinema.”

Talking about Billa, the movie was a remake of the 1978 film Don. It also was helmed by Meher Ramesh. The movie also starred Anushka Shetty and Hansika Motwani.
