Paatal Lok 2: Jaideep Ahlawat returns as Inspector Hathiram Chaudhary in this thriller web series

Jaideep Ahlawat is all set to return as Hathiram Chaudhary in the second season of the widely popular series Paatal Lok. The makers of Paatal Lok season 2 shared the promo of the latest season while revealing that the series will soon be released on Amazon Prime Video. Apart from Jaideep Ahlawat, the crime thriller series will also star Ishwak Singh and Tillotama Shome.

Taking to Instagram, the makers of Paatal Lok shared the promo of the upcoming season. The promo begins with Jaideep being attacked after which he is left bleeding from the ear. The words, “The wait is over” appear on the screen while Jaideep’s voice is heard in the background. The promo ends with the words, “The door to hell opens soon.” In the promo, an encryption appears on Jaideep’s hands- "XV.XII.XCVII" which could be a hint at the release date.

The caption reads, “Mausam badalne wala hai. Paatal Lok ahead. Caution advised. #PaatalLokOnPrime, New Season, Coming Soon.”

Released in 2020, Paatal Lok was loosely based on Tarun Tejpal's 2010 novel. Helmed by Avinash Arun and Prosit Roy, the first season of the crime thriller was produced by Anushka Sharma under the banner Clean Slate Filmz. The web series starred Jaideep Ahlawat, Gul Panag, Neeraj Kabi, Swastika Mukherjee, Ishwak Singh, Abhishek Banerjee, Niharika Lyra Dutt, and Richa Chaturvedi. Paatal Lok revolves around inspector Hathiram Chaudhary (Jaideep Ahlawat) as he tries to solve a case.

Earlier, the makers of Paatal Lok shared the poster of the latest season showcasing Jaideep Ahlawat. The caption stated, “Using our hammer to break the internet #PaatalLokOnPrime, New Season, Coming Soon.” Sharing the first look of season 2 a few months ago on Amazon Prime Video handle, the makers wrote, "Two seemingly disconnected cases get Hathiram and Ansari to work together again, sending them down the track of a nebulous conspiracy."

While not much is revealed about the latest season, Paatal Lok 2 adds new cast members such as Tillotama Shome, Jahnu Barua, Nagesh Kukunoor, and Anurag Arora.
