Telugu superstar Pawan Kalyan recently opened up about the challenges of continuing his acting career amid his new role as a leader in the newly-formed Andhra Pradesh government. During a public meeting, fans started chanting 'OG,' the title of his new movie, prompting Pawan to hint at the possibility of retiring from acting for good.
"Do you think I have enough time to act in movies?" asked Pawan, who is the new Deputy Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh.
"At least for the first three months, I should focus on my duties. You should not scold me for not even fixing the potholes on our village roads. I am afraid you will question what I am doing as your leader," he remarked.

In the run-up to the state elections in Andhra Pradesh, Pawan put all his film commitments on hold to run a fierce campaign. His gamble paid off, as his Jana Sena Party, in alliance with the TDP and BJP, secured a landslide victory in both state and assembly elections. Pawan also won an MP seat and took the oath as the Deputy Chief Minister.
"I have also sought forgiveness from my producers. I will shoot for my films by taking short breaks whenever possible, without interfering with my service to the people of Andhra Pradesh, and complete the projects that I have already committed to. Watch OG, it will be good," Pawan remarked.
OG was expected to hit the screens on September 27. However, the film has now been postponed due to Pawan's non-availability to finish the remaining portions.
Pawan is expected to first join the sets of the historical drama Hari Hara Veera Mallu and complete the movie, which is expected to arrive in cinemas later this year.
Ustaad Bhagat Singh, a remake of the 2016 Tamil hit Theri, is also stuck in production hell, waiting for Pawan's availability.
