Kamal Haasan in Indian 2
Lyca Productions on Tuesday unveiled a new poster revealing Tamil superstar Kamal Haasan's look from the movie Indian 2. Kamal, as Senapathy aka Indian thatha, sports a trendy disguise with a beard, cap, and jacket.
Given that Indian thatha is a fugitive from the law, he seems to take on many get-ups to hide in plain sight. The new poster also reveals that the trailer for the movie will be released online at 7 PM on Tuesday.
The trailer launch will officially kick off the promotions for Indian 2. The event is set to take place in Mumbai and will be attended by Kamal and director Shankar. Since this is a multilingual movie, the filmmakers have planned promotions across the country.

The producers already held a grand audio release event in Chennai a couple of months ago. The star-studded event saw some of the big names of Tamil cinema sharing their admiration for Kamal and their memories of watching Indian back in the 90s. The event has not been broadcast to the general public yet, but it's likely to happen closer to the movie's release date.

Written and directed by Shankar, Indian 2 is a much-awaited sequel to Indian. Shankar has revived the franchise nearly decades after the first movie. The film first went into production in 2019. However, the project was put on hold following an accident on the sets that killed three crew members in February 2020. The subsequent lockdown imposed due to Covid further delayed the project. Shankar also had a serious fallout with Lyca Productions, putting a big question mark on the fate of the project.
The production of Indian 2 only resumed after Red Giant Movies came on board as new producers. The filmmakers have already shot Indian 2, which is now in post-production. It's expected to hit the screens just six months after the completion of post-production.
Indian 2 is due in cinemas on July 12.
