Nayanthara and Dhanush at producer Aakash's wedding
Kollywood onlookers have been witnessing one of the biggest feuds between two prominent stars of the industry, Nayanthara and Dhanush, over the past few days. While the feud has not yet subsided, the duo was recently seen attending producer Aakash Baskaran’s wedding in Chennai. At the event, Dhanush and Nayanthara were observed ignoring each other, a sight that left netizens divided. Both actors were not only present at the same wedding but were also seated in the same hall on opposite sides of the aisle.
This marks the first time the two stars have been seen together in public since Nayanthara's explosive open letter addressing Dhanush went viral. Aakash Baskaran, who is producing Dhanush's upcoming film Idly Kadai, invited several industry stalwarts, including Nayanthara, Dhanush, Sivakarthikeyan, and Vignesh Shivan, to grace the function. Although fans sensed the awkward tension between Dhanush and Nayanthara, Dhanush appeared focused on the wedding proceedings, while Nayanthara was seen interacting with other guests.

Nayanthara’s legal battle against Dhanush
For those unversed, Nayanthara had earlier accused Dhanush in an open letter of denying her requests to use clips, songs, and photos from their 2015 film Naanum Rowdy Dhaan in her Netflix documentary. Dhanush, who also produced the film, reportedly issued a legal notice demanding ₹10 crore for the inclusion of brief recordings captured on personal devices in the documentary trailer. In response, Nayanthara called the move an "all-time low," alleging it stemmed from a personal grudge and questioning Dhanush’s ethics. She also criticized his actions as contradictory to the public image he seeks to project.
Dhanush’s family court appearance
Earlier today, Dhanush was also seen at the family court in Chennai with his ex-wife, Aishwaryaa Rajinikanth, as they worked to finalize their divorce documents. The former couple was seen wearing masks as they attended the proceedings. According to reports, the divorce petition is set to be finalized on November 27, 2024.
