Manoj Bajpayee is busy promoting the release of his upcoming film Bhaiyya Ji. In a recent interview with Ranveer Allahbadia, the actor spoke about the time when he did films like Satya, Shool, Kaun? and Aks and still did not get work.
When Manoj did not get work after doing Satya and Shool
During a conversation with Ranveer Allahbadia, Manoj Bajpayee was asked about his initial struggling phase when he was not getting work. The actor replied that after doing a cult blockbuster film like Satya, he was sitting in his home for months as he did not have work. He further revealed that even after he did Ram Gopal Verma’s cult film Shool, he did not get work, not even after doing films like Kaun? and Aks. He said, “I did good work, people praised me but did not give me work.”
Speaking further, Manoj said that if today someone comes with work to you, you must respect your contemporary time and the work they offer. The actor revealed that maybe because of the initial struggle phase, he is so passionate and true to his work now. He feels grateful for this current moment where he gets to do the kinds of roles and films that were not coming to him earlier.
Manoj Bajpayee’s cult classic films
Satya is Ram Gopal Verma’s cult classic film released in 1998 which tells the tale of a gangster who is out to seek revenge for his brother’s death. Ram Gopal Verma and Manoj again collaborated for the 1999 film Shool where the actor played the role of Inspector Samar, whose life is threatened due to a corrupt politician.
Kaun? is a crime drama film, directed by Ram Gopal Verma, portraying the tale of a woman who invites a stranger into her house one evening. Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’s 2001 thriller drama Aks tells the tale of a police investigation that is going on for a copycat killer.
Manoj will be seen next in Apoorv Singh Karki’s Bhaiyya Ji, the actor also has The Fable and The Family Man 3 in the pipeline.
