Popular television actor Vikas Sethi breathed his last on September 8 after suffering a cardiac arrest. He was 48. The actor, who made his acting debut with the show Dil Naa Jane Kyon, became a household name after portraying the role of Abir in Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi. His family is yet to issue an official statement.
Vikas Sethi dies of cardiac arrest
The 48-year-old actor, Vikas Sethi died of cardiac arrest today. He is survived by his twin boys and wife Jhanvi Sethi. According to a report by Telly Chakkar, the actor breathed his last in sleep when he suffered a cardiac arrest.
Speaking about Vikas’ health condition, his wife Jhanvi spoke to PTI and revealed that the family had gone to Nashik to attend a family function where the actor started vomiting. She added that because Vikas did not want to go to a hospital, a doctor was called home but when she went to wake him up in the morning, the actor was no more. The doctor there told us he passed away last night in his sleep due to a cardiac arrest,” she told PTI.
The actor’s remains were sent to Mumbai’s Cooper Hospital for post-mortem. His last rites will be held in Mumbai on Monday (September 9).
Soon after the heartbreaking news of his demise surfaced on social media, netizens expressed shock and sadness. Some offered condolences while others grieved his sudden loss.
Vikas' acting projects
After gaining fame through Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, Vikas appeared in television shows such as Kahiin To Hoga, Kyun Hota Hai Pyar, Kasautii Zindagii Kay, Uttaran and Sasural Simar Ka. He made his film debut as Rocky in Deewaanapan co-starring Arjun Rampal and Dia Mirza. He is widely remembered for playing the role of Robby in Karan Johar’s Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham. He was Kareena Kapoor's college friend in the film. The actor also participated in the dance reality show Nach Baliye, with his then-wife, Amita.
In 2019, he featured in a Telugu film titled ISmart Shankar.
