Despite being a mass entertainer and released on Eid, Salman Khan starrer Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan remained unexpectedly average on the opening day. The film failed to beat Salman’s earlier Eid records as it only managed to earn Rs 15.8 crore at the box office on Day 1. However, it crossed the opening collection of recently released films, Bholaa(Rs 11.20 crore) and Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar(Rs 15.73 crore).
According to Trade analyst Taran Adarsh’s report, Kisi Ki Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan’s collection is second lowest compared to Salman’s Eid releases from 2010 to 2019. The lowest was his 2010 release Dabangg which had an opening collection of Rs 14.50 crore, while his highest has been 2019 release Bharat which earned Rs 42.30 crore on Day 1. The trade analyst tweeted, “#KisiKaBhaiKisiKiJaan is underwhelming on Day 1… More so when one compares it with #SalmanKhan’s #Eid releases from 2010 to 2019… Metros weak, mass pockets better, but not great… Extremely important for biz to jump multi-fold today [#Eid]… Fri ₹ 15.81 cr. #India biz. #KBKJ."
