Kartik Aaryan and Karan Johar announce movie together after long rivalry, take internet by storm

Filmmaker Karan Johar chose Kartik Aaryan’s 33rd birthday to put an end to their alleged rivalry. The filmmaker took to Instagram and announced a film with Kartik in the lead role. Not only this, he also hoped to never cease to create magic together in future collaborations. The development came as a surprise for fans who took to the comment section and shared their excitement.

Karan joined hands with Ektaa R Kapoor for the upcoming film, which will be directed by Sandeep Modi. “Kickstarting today with some special news on a special day! Extremely thrilled to announce @dharmamovies & @balajimotionpictures coming together for a film helmed by the exceptionally talented @sandeipm. I find myself elated to also announce the supremely talented @kartikaaryan as our lead for this story that will unfold in cinemas on 15th August 2025!!!!” he wrote.

Further, Karan also extended a birthday wish to Kartik. “Kartik, happy birthday to you…may our collaboration only grow from strength to strength from hereon and never cease to create magic on the big screen,” he added. For Ektaa, he wrote, “Being your friend is easily the best thing and now working with you will be no different!!!” Soon after, the post surfaced, a user wrote, “2025 announcement Abhi se 😂 and when a biggie arrives .. date will change.” “Ho gya wapas dosti? Good going Karan,” said the second user. “Writing Kartik Aryan in such big letters.. to show that you guys are united,” reacted another user.

Reportedly, Karan and Kartik’s movie will be an epic war drama which is set against a backdrop not explored to date. “It’s a big-budget war drama based on true events and the subject tick marks all boxes to mark the first collaboration of Kartik and Karan. The duo, along with Ekta, are all excited to bring this tale to the spectacle. It’s a prep-heavy film with lots of action and Kartik will undergo transformation to play the part,” revealed a source close to Pinkvilla.

Meanwhile, Karan and Kartik’s alleged feud dates back to 2021, when the filmmaker posted that they would recast Dostana 2 after announcing and shooting with Kartik for certain scenes. He had written that they would recast due to some 'professional circumstances’, following which the director-actor duo caught up in a long-standing feud.
