Kartik Aaryan has climbed his way up the Bollywood ladder with back-to-back hits and with 2022 being his biggest year yet. However, now gearing up for his upcoming film Freddy, Kartik who has been labelled as a ‘replacement star’ after clinching Hera Pheri 3 says he wants to be an actor that no one can replace.
Busy with Freddy promotions at the moment, Kartik who has come a long way from his Pyaar Ka Punchnama days said in an interview with Siddharth Kannan named what his biggest struggle is at this juncture in his career.
“To be the number one choice that no other actor could replace,” Kartik said when asked about his biggest struggle in his career right now. Kartik is taken all the criticism for replacing Akshay Kumar in Hera Pheri 3 with a pinch of salt after already having delivered a blockbuster with Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, the original of which was led by the superstar.
Kartik has also seen the memes where he’s being called a ‘replacement star’ suggesting that he’d next be replacing Tom Cruise in the Mission Impossible films. Speaking about the same the Freddy actor said that he all he could do was laugh and seems least bothered about such discussions.
After Freddy, Kartik has some big-ticket films like Satya Prem Ki Katha, Aashiqui 3, Captain India and Shehzada in his kitty which will only take his brand value higher.
One of the most talked about stars in Bollywood at the moment, Katrik is already facing comparisons with some of Bollywood’s superstars like Akshay Kumar, Shah Rukh Khan among others.
Also starring Alaya F, Kartik’s Freddy sees him playing a dentist. Freddy releases digitally on Disney+ Hotstar on December 2. The film has been directed by Shashanka Ghosh who previously helmed films like Khoobsurat and Veere Di Wedding.
