Actress-turned-politician Kangana Ranaut is actively campaigning for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. She is contesting as a BJP candidate from Mandi in Himachal Pradesh. As she struggles to balance her acting career and her political aspirations, Kangana’s film Emergency has been postponed to a later date. When asked about giving up her acting career for politics, the actress said that she would quit acting gradually if she wins the election from Mandi.

Will Kangana Ranaut quit films if she wins LS elections?
In a conversation with Aaj Tak, when asked if she would quit Bollywood after winning elections from Mandi, the actress replied ‘yes’. The interviewer then expressed her disappointment over Kangana quitting Bollywood and said that the actress would be breaking many hearts with her actions. To which the actress said, “Yes… mujhe bohot saare filmmakers kehte hain ki humare paas ek acchi heroine hai, please mat jao. Main acchi acting karti hoon, par chalo voh bhi ek accha compliment hai. (A lot of filmmakers have told me that they have found a good heroine and so please do not leave. I am a good actress and that is a compliment. I take it in my stride).”
Speaking about juggling her two professions, Kangana said that she is a very passionate person who has never done a job because she had to. She said that she started writing in films when she felt bored of playing certain roles. “I am a very passionate person. I never wanted to do a job because I had to. Even in films I start writing, and when I get bored of playing a role, I direct or produce, so I have a very fertile mind and I want to be passionately engaged,” the actor said.

Talking about Bollywood, the actress said that the world of films is a lie where everything is fake. She said, “They create a very different environment. It is a glossy world like a fake bubble which is to attract the audience. This is the reality.”
Earlier this month, the makers of Emergency revealed that the release date of Kangana’s film has been postponed, much to the disappointment of her fans. The actress also has Sita: The Incarnation which is a trilogy, Noti Binodini (a biopic), and a thriller with Madhavan in the pipeline.
