In a shocking turn of events, a teenage girl faced an acid attack on her way to school in Delhi's Dwarka on Wednesday. The grave incident reminded Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut of her sister Rangoli Chandel 's traumatic acid attack experience. She also recalled how her family was devastated, and she herself underwent therapy to get rid of the horrors of the attack.
Taking to her Instagram stories, the Tanu Weds Manu actress penned a long note sharing that she used to cover her face whenever a stranger or a biker crossed her. “When I was a teenager my sister @rangoli r chandel was attacked with acid by a road side Romeo.... She had to go through 52 surgeries, unimaginable amount of mental and physical trauma.... We as a family were devastated .... I also had to go through therapy because I feared anyone passing me might throw acid on me which caused me to cover my face violently in a reflex action every time a biker a car a stranger crossed me ...,” she wrote.

Further, Kangana highlighted how the atrocities have not stopped and suggested that government needs to take strong action against these crimes. She also backed former cricketer and BJP MP Gautam Gambhir ’s take on the recent incident. She added, “These atrocities haven't stopped .... Government need to act very strongly against these crimes ....I do agree with @gautamgambhir55 we need to take very strict measures against acid attackers...”
As per reports, the victim is currently stable and is being treated at Delhi’s Safdarjung Hospital. The 17-year-old was attacked by two men on a motorcycle while she was on her way to school with her younger sister. For those unaware, Kangana’s sister Rangoli was 21 at the time she faced third-degree burns after the acid attack.
Workwise, Kangana is busy shooting for her upcoming political drama, Emergency in which is acting as well as directing. She will be seen essaying the role of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. Besides her, the film also features Anupam Kher, Mahima Chaudhary, Shreyas Talpade, Satish Kaushik, and Milind Soman.
