Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut has been making news ever since the trailer of her upcoming film Emergency was released on social media. The actress, who is busy promoting her film, recently in an interview revealed that she and actress Deepika Padukone were members of the same driving school and how watching Deepika drive her car for an award function made Kangana want to learn to drive again.
Kangana on learning how to drive
During an interview with Mashable India, Kangana revealed that she and actress Deepika Padukone had entered the industry at the same time. She said that her debut film, Gangster released in 2006, while Deepika’s debut film Om Shanti Om was released in 2007.
She added that both were in the same driving school in Bandra as they lived in Bandra at the time. Kangana explains that she decided to learn driving and learned it for a week after which she went for a driving test. During the test, Kangana said that her car hit an auto-rickshaw as she used the accelerator instead of the brake. She added that after hitting that rickshaw, the driver came out and shouted. She again accidentally used the accelerator and the car moved forward, which scared the rickshaw driver, and he ran for his life.
When watching Deepika drive motivated Kangana
Kangana said that she decided to quit driving lessons and five years went by. Later, at an event, Kangana saw Deepika driving an SUV and that motivated Kangana to resume her driving lessons as the two ladies had started learning it at the same time.
Kangana said she again started her driving lessons, and then she had a BMW. She added that she learned it for a week and one day at a traffic signal, while there was a police jeep in front, she again used the accelerator instead of the brake and hit the jeep. She claimed that after that she never attempted to learn to drive as there are many people who can drive her car and take her around.
Kangana will be seen next in her directorial film Emergency where she will be playing the role of India’s former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. The film also stars Shreyas Talpade, Milind Soman, Vishak Nair, and Satish Kaushik, among others.
