Updated : May 13, 2022 01:30 PM ISTTelugu superstar Mahesh Babu recently made headlines during the trailer launch of Adivi Sesh's Major when he revealed why he does not want a big Bollywood debut.
The Indian film industry is growing and is steadily coming together. More Bollywood stars are making their debut down South whereas many superstars from Tamil, Telugu and Kannada industries are signing Hindi films. Well, recently when Mahesh Babu was asked if he has any plans of making a debut in the Hindi film industry, he responded that he has many offers but he does not feel Bollywood can afford him, which is why he does not want to waste his time. Later the Telugu superstar clarified that his intention was not to belittle Bollywood but he is just comfortable where he is.
Well, in a recent media interaction, Bollywood’s Queen Kangana Ranaut reacted to this statement. She agreed with the superstar and revealed that she knows for a fact that many filmmakers have offered him movies. She credited him and his generation for making the Telugu film industry ‘number 1’ in our country and stated, “So now, Bollywood can definitely not afford them.” Hindustan Times quoted her saying, “Why create controversies on small things? If he said that in some context, I think it only makes sense. We can also say Hollywood cannot afford us or say whatever way we want to convey our point.”
Kangana went on to add that he has shown respect for his work and industry. She then lauded the industry by stating, “The Telugu film industry did not get anything on a platter. They’ve left behind everyone, even the Tamil industry, in recent years. We have lots to learn from them. As for the languages, I have talked about it at length. I believe all languages in our country are equally respectable. It is a small thing that we respect each other's languages.”
