The mother-daughter duo had earlier made headlines for their appearance on the Marathi version of Kaun Banega Crorepati hosted by Sachin Khedekar. During the show, Tanuja shared anecdotes from Kajol's childhood and complained that she never listened to her as a child. “She would always be lost in her own world. And if you tell her something, she would stare at you with her big eyes, Tanuja said in the promo video.
For the unversed, Tanuja ruled the Hindi film industry in the late 60s and early 70s era with films like Chand Aur Suraj, Jewel Thief, Haathi Mere Saathi , Mere Jeevan Saathi, and Do Chor among others. She married filmmaker Shomu Mukherjee and has two kids- Kajol and Tanishaa Mukerji. Later, Tanuja and Shomu got divorced when Kajol was just four-and-a-half years old. In 2008, Shomu died of a massive cardiac arrest.
Meanwhile, on the work front, Kajol was last seen in Tribhanga co-starring Tanvi Azmi and Mithila Palkar. She will next be seen in Revathi 's upcoming film Salaam Venky, which reportedly revolves around the real-life incident faced by a woman. On the other hand, Tanuja recently appeared in Amazon Prime Video series Modern Love: Mumbai.
