A special CBI court in Mumbai has announced the final verdict in Jiah Khan’s suicide case today (April 28). Sooraj Pancholi who was her boyfriend at the time of her suicide was the main accused in the case. The court had announced him not guilty of the charges and he has been acquitted of abetment charges in the case. Now, both Jiah’s mother Rabiya Khan and Sooraj have given their first reaction after the verdict on the case.
A disappointed Rabiya Khan told the press outside the court that now, only the abetment to suicide has been eradicated against Sooraj Pancholi but now the question still remains how did her child die? Rabiya said that this was a clear case of murder. She also revealed that she will now appeal to the High Court regarding the case. Going by her statement, the late actress’ mother is in no mood to accept the verdict and will continue fighting.
On the other hand, actor Sooraj Pancholi who has been acquitted in the case shared his first reaction after the verdict. The Hero actor took to his Instagram story to share a picture of what looked like the sky. He wrote, “The truth always wins. #GodIsGreat” along with a red heart and a prayer emoji. According to an earlier news report in News 18, Rabia Khan’s lawyer made a written submission yesterday (April 27). The court had directed all the lawyers involved in the case to make the submission by a specific date. But Sooraj Pancholi’s lawyers had taken objection to the last-minute submission. As a result, the case has been kept back. Special Judge A S Sayyad went on to announce the verdict today.
Talking about the late actress, Jiah Khan who had made a mark for herself in Bollywood with the movie Nishabh opposite Amitabh Bachchan was found dead in her house on June 3, 2013. The actress was 25 years of age at the time of her tragic demise. The police authorities had booked her then-boyfriend Sooraj Pancholi based on a letter that was assumed to be penned by her before her suicide.
