Jersey box office
The Shahid Kapoor starrer Jersey had opened up at the box office with a slow start minting only Rs 3.7 to 4 crore. After having a dull stint on its second day too, the movie has finally showcased a slight improvement on its third day. For the unversed, the film is a Hindi remake of a Telugu movie of the same name.
Trade analyst Ramesh Bala took to his Twitter handle to state that Jersey collected Rs 5 crore on its third day. Reportedly, the film also had an overall occupancy of 24.21% on Sunday (April 24). Take a look at the tweet.

1. #KGFChapter2 - ₹ 25 Crs
2. #Jersey - ₹ 5 Crs
It is very obvious that Jersey has faced tough competition with Yash ’s KGF : Chapter 2 wherein the latter has emerged victorious. While Jersey earned Rs 5 crore on Sunday, KGF: Chapter 2 minted Rs 25 crore. According to some trade analysts, Jersey had shown a growth of 45% in the collection on Saturday (April 23).
The film Jersey was expected to do well on its opening day with estimates ranging from Rs 6 to 7 crores. But it rather opened up to a lukewarm response. However, the critics have positively received Shahid Kapoor’s performance in the same. The film also stars Mrunal Thakur and Pankaj Kapoor in the lead roles.

An earlier news report in Box Office India had mentioned, “Jersey had a low opening day of around 3.75-4 crore net and the collections of the film did not jump much in the evening. Obviously, they were better than compared to the morning and afternoon shows but they did not propel the film to a higher level which was needed as the start was low. Again, this film will be another test for the box office as it’s a Saturday film but post the pandemic these s have found it tough going.”
