I want to work on myself as versatile actor, says Avantika Dassani
The super talented young and bright star Avantika Dassani is really into exploring various genres and mediums. Earlier this year, she followed her debut web series with a lead role in the Telugu film Nenu Student Sir!, released in 2023, which has again established her versatility, challenging her to act in a language other than her native Hindi. The very next year, she starred in the Hindi film Inn Galliyon Mein, thus making her presence felt in the industry.
When asked about her career trajectory, speaking exclusively to Desimartini, Avantika said, “I definitely think I’m doing something right if that’s the response and I’m so happy to hear that and very grateful. I hoped and chose to varied characters in the first two projects of mine. I want to work on myself as versatile actor. Someone who can play strong, docile, eccentric, relatable, unpredictable I want to play it all. I don’t want to be pigeon holed. Yes, the choices haven't been easy but they have been fulfilling!”.
Avantika Dassani comes across as an actress who refuses to be predictable. With each and every role that she takes on, she not only challenges expectations, but also proves that versatility is her greatest strength. How can anyone forget her super powerful role as the sharp and enigmatic Rhea Rajguru in Mithya and also Shabbo, a character which was a deeply layered yet soft-spoken vegetable vendor in Inn Galiyon Mein.
In an earlier interview with us, the go-getter that Avantika Dassani is, had spoken about the qualities which, according to her, makes for a good actor. In a reply to this question, Avantika had said, “I think like any skill it’s something you have to keep working on, practicing and constantly being open to learning new things. Be aware, look for new experiences in life and introspect on those things to see how they impact you and those around you. These… are things that I have just made part of my approach towards life!
