‘I unfortunately lost my baby’: Rani Mukerji reveals she was pregnant with her second child during the pandemic

Bollywood beauty Rani Mukerji has always been extremely private about her personal life. For instance, fans never knew for sure if she was dating Aditya Chopra until news about their secret wedding was out. That’s not all! It has been seven years since she welcomed her daughter Adira into the world and there are barely any photos of the star kid online. Media as well as fans respect her privacy. But during a recent event, Rani opened up about a heartbreaking phase in her personal life, which she never spoke about before. The actress suffered a miscarriage during the coronavirus pandemic.

During her appearance at the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne recently, Rani shared that she was pregnant with her second child and lost the baby. But she did not open up about it. HT City quoted her saying, “Maybe this is the first time I am making this revelation because in today’s world every aspect of your life is discussed publicly, and becomes an agenda for talking about your film to get more eyeballs. Obviously, I didn’t speak about this when I was promoting the film because it would have come across as me trying to speak about a personal experience that would propel the film…”

The actress went on to share, “So, it was around the year when Covid-19 struck. It was 2020. I got pregnant with my second baby at the end of 2020 and I unfortunately lost my baby five months into my pregnancy.” This revelation is truly heartbreaking and we wish Rani and Aditya all the strength in the world. The film that the actress is talking about here is none other than her last release, Mrs Chatterjee vs Norway. Based on a real life story, the legal drama followed the journey of a mother who fought the Norwegian law-enforcing authorities. She won back the custody of her children, who were taken away by the Norwegian Child Welfare Services.
