'I left that set a different person': Alia cherishes moment she wrapped Gangubai Kathiawadi; Rajkummar dedicates award to wifey Patralekhaa

Last night(April 27, 2023) became magnificent for actors Alia Bhatt and Rajkummar Rao as they walked away with Best Actress and Best Award respectively at the 68th Filmfare Awards. While Alia won it for her powerful performance in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Gangubai Kathiawadi, Rajkummar bagged it for Badhaai Do. Taking to their respective social media handle, both actors penned a long note thanking their loved ones for their big win.
Alia reminisced about the day she wrapped up the shoot of Gangubai Kathiawadi, and wrote, “The day we wrapped Gangubai Kathiawadi, with shaking hands and heavy hearts, I remember telling my wonderful crew. “No matter the outcome, just the experience of shooting the film, learning and growing under the guidance of Sanjay sir - that's my blockbuster.” I left that set a different person - and that was ONLY because of this amazing team!”. She gave a special mention to Sanjay Leela Bhansali by adding, “ Gangu .. meri jaan .. my alter ego, belongs to you Sanjay sir.”
In the end, she expressed gratitude to her team and family including her dear husband Ranbir Kapoor and daughter Raha Kapoor. “And last but not the least! My beautiful family that grounds me and keeps me steady - Mama, Papa, Tanna I love you .. my other mom — my mom-in-law & my father-in-law up there whose blessing is always with me. On the other hand, Rajkummar gave a shout-out to each crew member of Badhaai Do for his big win. He began by dedicating his award to his beautiful actress wife Patralekhaa. “This one is very very special. My 4th black lady and this wouldn’t have been possible without you my love @patralekhaa who always pushes and encourages me to do good work. Thank you love for always being there. Thank you my most beautiful family both in Gurgaon and Shillong.” He also thanked co-star Bhumi Pednekar saying, “Mubarak ho meri dost. Meanwhile, the 68th edition of the prestigious Filmfare Award was held on Thursday and witnessed a slew of celebrities in attendance. Gangubai Kathiawadi was announced as the Best Film and Sanjay Leela Bhansali received the Best Director Award. Among others, Tabu, Anil Kapoor, Bhumi Pednekar, Sanjay Mishra and Sheeba Chaddha also won big at the award ceremony.
