Hollywood royalty Anne Hathaway recently opened up in a candid interview about her battle with alcoholism and the stigma women face around aging. The actress recently became the face of a popular skincare brand and had a loud message for women to be freed of questions surrounding their aging process. Hathaway furthermore recalled giving up on alcohol during her 30s.

Talking about the same, The 40-year-old Princess Diaries actress said, “Aging is just another word for living. And what you do with it from there is personal and up to you. I feel great — I feel better than I did in my twenties because I'm taking much better care of myself.”

On battling alcoholism
Anne Hathaway furthermore said how she had to give up alcohol during her 30s since she disliked the life she was leading while she was drinking. The Les Miserables actress added, “In my 30s, I had to give up alcohol. I couldn't do it anymore. I couldn't lead the life that I wanted while drinking. And in my 40s I'm finding I have to support myself differently nutritionally. I want to go back and talk to my 25-year-old self who felt like she didn't have to do anything and just be like, ‘Oh honey, honey, there's a whole other world out there and it tastes like an avocado.”

The Devil Wears Prada actress welcomed her second son with husband Adam Shulman in 2019 and also rubbished the speculations that she bounced back from her postpartum phase quickly. Anne Hathaway added, “People don't talk about this and it really made me feel better when I found out about it. It takes three years for your body to fully recover from a pregnancy. I didn't snap back. I want to be very, very clear about that.”
On the work front, Anne Hathaway has the movie Eileen in the pipeline opposite Thomasin McKenzie. She will also be seen in She Came To Me. The movie also stars Game Of Thrones actor Peter Dinklage and Marisa Tomei.
