Honey Singh divorce case
The Delhi court on Tuesday granted divorce to singer-rapper Honey Singh and Shalini Talwar, putting an end to nearly two-and-a-half-year-long litigation. The couple got married in January 2011 and after eleven years of marriage moved a plea seeking a mutual divorce in September 2022. Before granting a decree of divorce, the court asked Singh if he wished to give another chance to the marriage and he replied in negative.
Earlier, Talwar had approached Delhi's Tis Hazari Court and filed a case of domestic violence against the singer in August 2021. A few day later, Singh issued an official statement calling the allegations ‘false’. The allegations were later withdrawn after the parties reached a settlement. Principal Judge (Family Court) Paramjeet Singh at Saket Court granted them divorce and the terms of settlement were kept in a sealed envelope.

She claimed that he mercilessly beat her for releasing their marriage pictures online. She also alleged that he and his family threatened her with physical harm and constantly lived in fear. She also submitted details about the physical assault she faced over the last 10 years. She has also urged the court to issue orders against Singh under the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act, 2005 and pay Rs 10 crore as interim compensation.
